75th Anniversary Celebration in Glaumbær

A splendid anniversary celebration was held in Glaumbær on May 29, marking 75 years since Mark Watson donated money to preserve the farm. The Skagafjörður Heritage Museum is thus the oldest heritage museum in Iceland - thanks to this monetary gift from Watson.

Mark Watson is, as mentioned in a previous post, also referred to as the savior of the Icelandic Sheepdog. This provided an opportunity to bring Icelandic Sheepdogs to the anniversary celebration, and 12 dogs attracted a lot of attention and excitement among guests and passers-by.
